Case Studies - Business Requirements
Project Type:
Web Site Business Requirements
Client Profile:
Application Service Provider Industry Leader
Timeframe:
10 weeks
Challenge:
Client was facing relentless aggressive competition in not only its primary business focus, but in its emerging areas of globalization and e-commerce, as well. The company needed to stay ahead of external competition while managing its infrastructure during a period of extremely rapid growth.
Solution:
Swimfish identified and assessed the detailed business requirements for the company's Web site. The resulting documentation described the marketplace need and opportunity for the Web site, and summarized a set of features and functions that could fill those needs.
Features:
The Business Discussion document, together with the Business Requirements documents for the next three updates to the Web site, guided the organization's Project Charters and Functional Specifications. Combined, these documents outlined both mandatory and desired features sets, and served as a mutual reference point for the stakeholders and various business units involved.
Benefits:
Our findings suggested that the company had to illustrate and demonstrate its capacity to deliver those services on its own Web site wherever possible. To achieve this, streaming media, flash, video clips and invitations to upcoming events were employed. By demonstrating its own internal design, engineering, and layout capabilities in the Web site, the client was able to favorably position itself relative to competitors. Furthermore, the company's site met or surpassed both its current and prospective clients' expectations.
