rtCapture is a simple utility that downloads your institution's data from the SEVIS RTI system. It can be used to capture either student or visitor records, from either the beta or live RTI websites.
What problem does it solve if I am using just RTI?
rtCapture downloads the data from the SEVIS web site and lets you access all of the information in a convenient spreadsheet format.
You can keep your own record of what information the government has on your students so that you can verify that SEVIS doesn't either lose your information or modify it by mistake. While rtCapture can't provide a bullet-proof audit trail, it can enable you to proactively detect changes or mistakes that might occur, and subsequently raise these issues with DHS before you have a problem.
In addition, the Excel exporting capability will allow you to do your own mail merges and simple reporting that goes beyond what is offered by the SEVIS web site.
What problem does it solve if I am using batch and RTI?
Even if your organization is submitting 99% of its visa information to SEVIS via batch, there are still some operations that are not supported by batch, or that are highly time-sensitive and need to happen right now. In these cases, you or your staff will make modifications to your records directly using RTI, and your batch database might become out of sync with the government's SEVIS system. The only way you can uncover these discrepancies today is manually, by going through each record in the SEVIS system and comparing it to a report or screen in your own HR or SIS system. Using rtCapture, your IT staff can automate this auditing process, so that you can verify your system's data integrity on a monthly basis and catch any discrepancies before they become serious problems.
What problem does it solve if I am using from RTI to batch?
If your organization has out-grown RTI, or has put off acquiring a batch system until now, you will soon be implementing a SEVIS batch software solution. To implement this systems, you will need to re-enter all of the data that you've previously entered into the SEVIS system. By capturing the information you've entered in an automated fashion, rtCapture can help you avoid the inevitable re-typing errors that will crop up, and assist your implementation team in getting you up and running quickly, without having to hire and train a team of temporary workers.

What are the system requirements?
Windows (NT/2000/XP), Internet Explorer 5.0 or later or Netscape/Mozilla 5.0 or later, a SEVIS RTI account, and Microsoft Excel.
